It All Starts with a Healthy Plate

At Tumaini School, we believe that a child’s journey to success begins with a full stomach. Every school day, just before the afternoon lessons begin, something powerful happens at our school: plates are filled, hands are joined, and children are nourished.

Our meals are simple, yet thoughtfully prepared. Each plate holds a balanced mix of starch—maize and beans, or rice—paired with proteins like boiled eggs, and a serving of fresh vegetables.
It’s not just lunch. It’s a lifeline.

For some students, this is the most dependable meal of their day. We have received feedback from the teachers on the difference that meals make. After lunch, tired faces brighten. Energy returns. Focus sharpens. And learning begins again with renewed strength.
But providing these meals takes commitment.

Behind every plate is a quiet challenge. There’s firewood to be gathered, water to be fetched, hands to prepare and serve, and planning to ensure nothing runs out. Each meal we serve sends a message:
“You matter. You’re cared for. Your future is worth investing in.”

With your support, we can continue providing meals that nourish more than just the body.
We’re feeding futures. One plate at a time.
