For over twenty years, we did not know that a well stood on the school grounds, a quiet symbol of hope. In the past, it had provided fresh water for drinking and cooking, supporting daily life in the community.

When we eventually discovered the well, it had remained unused for a very long time. We decided to clean it, deepen it, and treat the water. Unfortunately, after increasing its depth, the water quality changed. Due to the school’s close proximity to the ocean, the water became salty.

While this was a setback, the well still tells a powerful story, one of perseverance, learning, and renewed determination to find sustainable water solutions that will truly serve the community and Tumaini School for years to come.

We have since identified a reputable company that provides high-quality, cost-effective desalination solutions, supported by a team of experienced experts. The proposed system includes Reverse Osmosis, general filtration, pure water treatment, and UV disinfection, with the option to be powered by solar energy.

This sustainable approach would provide clean, safe drinking water for learners, staff, and the surrounding community. The total quotation is just £25,000 which approximate to Ksh 4,087,230.80 at current exchange rates. The amount covers the purchase, transport, installation, and solar powered system.
