Sponsor a Child

When you sponsor a child through our program, you do more than provide help—you open the door to a whole new life for your child and their community. Unlike typical sponsorships, your support gives children in poverty a home, education, and full-time care at one of our live-in schools. Together we can give children the best opportunity possible to break the cycle of poverty.

Your monthly gift provides:

  • £24/$48 CAD per month — you can support a child through Tumaini Nursery, Primary School & High School.

By sharing God’s love, you offer a child hope, dignity, and a real path out of poverty—not just for today, but for a lifetime.

Why should I sponsor a child?

Because you want to. Because you care. Because you want to offer hope. Because you know it can make a difference to the life of a child. If you would like to become a sponsor then visit our brochure page to build a community.

What happens when I sponsor a child?

When we receive your sponsorship form we will inform the school and you will be allocated a child in order of need. If you have made a preference as to boy or girl we will endeavour to meet your request. A photograph will be taken of your sponsored child, which will be posted or emailed to you with an introduction letter. You will receive updates on your child’s progress including school reports, letter from your child and a photo at least once a year.

What does Sponsorship include?

The money you give will ensure that a child’s education continues, increasing their chance of employment or starting a business. Your sponsorship not only covers education, but also provides uniform, stationery, a daily nutritious meal and builds the community. At Tumaini Timbwani School we employ qualified Kenyan teachers and the sponsorship also helps towards their salaries.

What happens to the money?

Education for Life is a non-profit Christian Charity. Sponsorship donations are used for the benefit of your sponsored child/project and the running costs of that project.

What Will I Receive as a Sponsor?

  • Opportunities to share notes, your prayer intentions, and your story with your sponsored child
  • Continuing engagement in serving the poor and changing lives
  • Mission and pilgrimage visits can be arranged so that you can visit
*Please note: Education For Life love receiving notes, but as you can understand, it may be difficult for them at times due to their commitments. In accordance with our child protection policy, all communications must go through the UK WVC office (personal contact information will be redacted).
How Can I Sponsor a Child?

You can sponsor through several convenient options depending on your location.

  • In the UK, donations can be made tax-efficiently through Stewardship, a trusted Christian giving platform.
  • For supporters in Canada, The Great Commission Foundation enables secure, tax-deductible donations for missions and ministry work.
  • Alternatively, if you’re giving from anywhere else in the world or prefer a direct method, you can contribute quickly and easily via PayPal.
