The Story Behind the Space

The house features 24 private rooms, each with comfort, privacy, and dignity for its residents.

The first to make this house a home were five young adults, all over the age of 18 and graduates of Tumaini High School. Thanks to the generosity of our partners at Footsteps International, each young person received a small budget to purchase essential household items — from cozy bedding to kitchenware — giving them a sense of ownership and pride in this new phase of life.

“Jiwe la Kuvukia taught me independence isn’t alone—it’s a community lifting you.”

Today, all rooms on the upper floor are fully occupied, and more young lives are being welcomed. As the space quickly fills, we’re already dreaming bigger. This halfway house is more than just a building; it’s a community. It’s a bridge to self-reliance. A place to learn, grow, and become.
