There was a lot of excitement yesterday evening as our container from Canada finally arrived after over 4 months! It was a little tight manoeuvring the lorry and trailer into position but eventually the container was inside Tumaini. We then noticed the tyres of the lorry making quite a dent in the sand so tried to move the lorry, yes you guessed it – stuck in the sand and no crane available to lift the container from the lorry. They said don’t worry we will unload, tie it to a tree and swing it off!
So 7am this morning we started to unload, Jane set up a temporary office inside the container to record everything that was taken out and where it was to be stored. It was a lot of hard work and very hot inside the container but by 10.30 it was empty! Next came the tricky part, removing the container from the lorry, repositioning it and reloading it with the playground equipment.
In the end we decided not to swing the container from a tree and managed to get a fork lift truck, it was quite a job but eventually it was in place and by 2pm all the playground equipment was back inside.
So guys we just need you to come back to assemble it! A huge thank you to everyone who gave to the container and spent time planning and loading it and a big thank you to Emmanuel Foundation, Alberta. Thanks for all your prayers and support, we are very happy and looking forward to seeing the playground take shape.
